Ethiopiaid helps to create lasting and positive change in Ethiopia by working with experienced local partners to tackle the root causes of poverty, ill health and poor education.
Ethiopiaid provide structured funding and guidance directly to local community projects in Ethiopia. In doing so we support projects that are run by locals, for local people.
These projects cover three primary areas; health, education, and community development. In turn, our partners help to support orphaned children, disabled youth and adults, mothers who developed Fistula from difficult births and the elderly. They also aim educate communities on harmful traditional practices such as FGM.
Ethiopiaid aims to:
- Tackle immediate problems of poverty in a sustainable and supportive way, such as training initiatives for vulnerable young girls.
- Nurture future generations by providing access to education for the poorest children in Ethiopia - such as the Ladders of HOPE schooling programme.
- Improve health provision for local people and communities - such the training of midwives (many of whom are former Fistula patients) to work in rural healthcare centres.
