  • Mission statement

    Beam is an arts, architecture and learning organisation dedicated to the imaginative understanding and improvement of the public realm. We aim to create a better understanding about the importance of the arts and good design; to make stronger connections between professionals and the public; and to celebrate good design in places and spaces as a powerful contributor to personal, economic and community wellbeing. Beam are based at The Orangery, Wakefield.

    We believe that place has a powerful impact upon our quality of life, and in these tough financial times good place making also makes economic sense. Great places where people want to live, work and visit are the foundations of what is becoming known as the ‘big society’. Beam offers a range of services within the following fields: Learning and Skills Development; Arts in the Public Realm; Engagement and Consultation.
