Charity information

Orbis is a global charity, dedicated to preserving and restoring the sight of the poorest people in the poorest communities across the world.

Founded 1982

  • Mission statement

Over 39 million people in the world are blind, yet 80% of them could have their sight restored – if only they had access to the right treatment. At Orbis we believe that no-one should be blind due to lack of quality eye care. Since our work began in 1982, we've carried out over 23 million treatments and trained more than 325,000 medical professionals in 92 countries.
