Studio Upstairs supports creative and personal recovery through arts practice.
Studio Upstairs provides artistic resources and therapeutic support to adults experiencing mental and emotional distress and to those in drug and alcohol recovery. This therapeutic arts community is a place where its membership has the opportunity to experiment creatively in the company of others.
Dedicated studio space is available for; drawing, painting, mixed media, digital and some small scale 3D work, plus regular music, creative writing and life drawing workshops. Artistic and therapeutic support is provided in a flexible, unobtrusive and considered way.
Studio artists are encouraged to develop a confidence to exhibit or perform their work and become part of contemporary art culture.
Studio Upstairs aims to:
- Advance public education through events and publications
- Preserve, protect and improve health through the arts, creative and educational activities within therapeutic artists community
