The Hope Foundation for Street Children

The Hope Foundation, set up in 1999, works primarily with the street and slum children of Calcutta, providing education, health care, protection and shelter for these vulnerable children.

  • Mission statement

    HOPE works to provide holistic support for children across Kolkata and West Bengal. Providing educational support (through creches and coaching centres), protection homes, health care (including in our hospital), anti-trafficking protection and rescue, counselling services and advocacy, HOPE seeks to give the vulnerable children on the streets and in the slums a brighter future.

    The Hope Foundation for Street Children aims to:

    • Giving all children - but especially girls - in Kolkata the opportunity to enjoy their rights of childhood and take advantage of their rights to education and a safe upbringing.
