Equal People supports people with learning disabilities and their families. Independent living support, increasing self-confidence, skills and community participation, activties and a daily drop-in.

  • Mission statement

    Equal People (Kensington & Chelsea) supports people with learning disabilities to have more choice, more opportunities and increasing control over their lives. Chosen by our service users, our mission statement is "turning dreams into action at the pace of the individual. " We listen to each individual and support them to fully participate in and contribute to the life of their local community

    We have a Resource Centre based in Ladbroke Grove, a safe and welcoming space to seek advice and meet friends, an Activities service with a wide range of supported activities chosen by service users through the week based both at the Resource Centre and out in the community and Supported Living Services providing both 24-hour accommodation based support and a Floating Support Service enabling individuals to increase their self-confidence and independence, find work or further education and build and maintain friendships, relationships and community connections.

  • Aims

    Equal People (Kensington & Chelsea) aims to:

    • People with learning disabilities to have access to health services and information that enables them to make informed choices and maintain good health.
    • People with learning disabilities to be free from bullying, harassment and abuse and to be heard and fully supported when they report it.
    • People with learning disabilities to experience the same choices and opportunities as others in the community. Community participation, work, living independently, friendships and relationships.
    • Equal People to provide a well-trained, dedicated support staff team providing a high standard of person-centred support that enables each individual to live the life of their choice.
    • Individuals to be supported to participate in meaningful activities each day at the Resource Centre and out in the community. To have fun, learn and build and pursue friendships and relationships.
