Support for people living with HIV, from people living with HIV
Positively UK champions the rights of people living with HIV and related health conditions. We provide specialist and peer support, advocacy and information, campaign against discrimination, promote positive attitudes and equitable access to health, and strive to increase the involvement, voice and visibility of people living with HIV.
We provide a helpline, one-to-one and group support through our peer work programme, with specialist groups for women, heterosexual people, Caribbean and LBT communities. We also run specific programmes family programmes supporting people living with HIV to make informed choices around pregnancy, parenting programme focused on migrant families and support for young people with HIV make the transition to adulthood and adult health services. Workshops and advice is provided for people considering their future options around employment, training and education. We also co-ordinate PozFem-UK, a national network of women living with HIV, which aims to be the national voice of women, influencing decisions, services and policy.
Each year the charity supports over 1,000 people living with HIV across the UK.
