Cornwall Film Festival

An annual Festival supporting Cornish & international filmmaking through short film competitions, feature film screenings, workshops & professional development opportunities & year-round activity.

Founded 2002

  • Mission statement

Cornwall Film Festival is a registered charity whose mission is to support the growth and development of a sustainable film industry in Cornwall and to celebrate the art of cinema by showcasing Cornish and international films and filmmakers. Through its exhibition, education, and community development programmes, Cornwall Film Festival builds audiences for Cornish content and talent, provides opportunities for emerging filmmakers, and promotes the creative economy of Cornwall. Cornwall Film Festival is committed to widening participation in cinema and increasing audience choice by offering a diverse programme of films that would not otherwise be screened in the region.

Now in its twelfth year and still growing, the Festival offers local and national film premieres, juried competitions, professional development workshops, lectures, masterclasses and receptions, providing the opportunity for Cornish filmmakers – whether students or established – to network with the UK's leading industry professionals. The Festival also incorporates Screen Actions, a young person's film festival event. This year’s Festival is scheduled for 8th-10th November at Newquay's state-of-the-art Lighthouse Cinema.
