We are a child welfare agency covering the Roman Catholic Diocese of Plymouth (Cornwall, Devon and most of Dorset). We provide grants for children in need and parenting skills courses.

  • Mission statement

    The Catholic Children’s Society (Plymouth) is an independent child welfare charity under the pastoral care of the Bishop of Plymouth. Its objects are to relieve the charitable needs and promote the care and welfare of all children and young persons and families in the Diocese of Plymouth (Cornwall, Devon and Dorset).

    The following specific areas of need are addressed in accordance with the Society’s core values of love, justice and forgiveness, reflecting its Christian responsibility;
    -The welfare of families (financial assistance, parental support and skills training)
    -The spiritual development of children in a multicultural society

    Catholic Children's Society (Plymouth) aims to:

    • The aim of the PATCHWORK project is to promote and develop groups for parents in the diocese which support parents and families in bringing up their children.
    • The aim of the GRANT programme is to relieve the urgent material needs of children, young people and families in order to improve their well-being and to prevent homelessness
