PAPYRUS is the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. It operates HOPELineUK, a confidential helpline for young people with thoughts of suicide or those concerned about a young person who may have thoughts of suicide. HOPELineUK is staffed by trained professionals and offers a phone, text and email service.

  • Mission statement

    Suicide is the biggest killer of young people in the UK under the age of the 35. We believe many suicides are preventable. We support young people at risk of suicide to stay safe and find hope in times of need, as well equipping those around young people the skills to keep them safe.

    PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide aims to:

    • To save young lives by providing young people with a safe, non-judgmental space through HOPELINEUK to talk through their thoughts of suicide, & where they can be given confidential help and support.
