Sports Driving Unlimited

Sports Driving Unlimited raises funds in order to provide a challenging activity for people who have a disability or are disadvantaged in some way. Our partners are other charities and schools.

Founded 2007

  • Mission statement

We exist to provide children, young people and adults who have a disability, mental/behavioural difficulty or terminal illness with opportunities to enjoy the therapeutic benefits, fun and excitement of participation in equestrian sports carriage driving.
We believe this charity is unique in its approach; blending the exhilaration and excitement of sports carriage driving and therapeutic involvement with ponies with the expertise of developing individual confidence, motivation and sense of achievement. Currently no organisation specialises in providing sports pony driving to disadvantaged or terminally ill individuals.
Participants will be enabled to be involved in sports pony driving to any and all levels whether for fun, as a hobby or more seriously in sports pony driving competitions. T
The success of our activities is measured by the positive impact that participation has on individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, visual & hearing impairment and learning difficulties. This includes:
    Improvement in motor skills
    Increase in confidence
Improvement in the ability to articulate
Increased ability to learn and absorb new skills
Improvement in the ability to engage with both disabled and able bodied peers
    Increased fundamental enjoyment of life
Important improvements in both physical and mental well being
