Charity information

The Charity’s objects (“the objects”) are to promote the welfare of persons suffering from senile dementia and other forms of confusional states by the provision of advice in the care of such persons and by the provision of respite care in the borough of Spelthorne.

We run day centres in the borough of Spelthorne, which provide a programme of stimulating activities for people with dementia related conditions. This allows their primary carer who is typically a close family member time for themselves each week. We give people the alternative of remaining in the familiarity of their own home for much longer and avoiding social exclusion.

Our primary funding comes from Surrey County Council and the PCT, which just about covers salaries. Because of demand we have grown the charity over the past few years to support 58 people each week and have ambitious plans to provide 100 sessions each week in 3-years time. Our cost base is estimated to rise from around £46k to £96k to achieve this aim.
