Helix Arts

Helix Arts' mission is to increase equality of opportunity for people to participate in the arts and our focus is on those who currently have least opportunity including: children and young people at risk; unemployed adults and employed people on low incomes; people living in deprived neighbourhoods; those with special educational needs; and people with poor health, particularly the elderly.

In 2010/11 Helix Arts delivered 500 sessions with over 2,200 attendees across the North East. We work with artists selected for their ability to co-produce high quality arts through a partcipatory process. Participants produced worked across a range of art form areas including visual arts, film-making, creative writing, music, drama, dance, photography and textiles.
