First Housing Aid & Support Services

We are an award winning charitable organisation and a leading provider of housing and family related services in Northern Ireland. We manage a wide range of projects including a housing rights service, floating and resettlement support and specialist temporary accommodation for families and children who are homeless and in acute housing need in Northern Ireland. Our main centres are in the Belfast, Enniskillen, Omagh, Coleraine, Limavady and Londonderry areas.

We run a number of other specialist projects and services, including several ‘SmartMove’ Rent Bond Guarantee Schemes, a Young Fathers Project, a Private Sector Mediation Service, an Early Years Programme and a Peer Education Programme for young people who are homeless and/or at risk of becoming homeless because they are experiencing difficulty living on their own.

We also provide a Skills and Employment Service, incorporating a ‘Changing Lives Programme’ and a ‘Volunteer Participation Scheme’ to help young people who are homeless access opportunities for training, employment and volunteering. Through our Youth Accommodation Support Project (YASP) we deliver health promotion programmes, life-skills training and a befriending and support service to young people coming out of residential care and young people with mental health difficulties living in the community.

Strategically, we are committed to developing and delivering services which offer a meaningful response to the needs of homeless people, while ensuring that a decent home is within the reach of every family and single person in Northern Ireland.
