Avon Owls

Avon owls is a bird of prey rescue charity, we work with wild and captive bred birds of prey. The wild birds that come in our care are treated and returned to the wild. Captive bred birds are given a forever home. We are 100% volunteer run, no one within Avon owls receives a wage, so every penny raised for the birds stays with the birds.

  • Mission statement

Avon Owls works very hard to maintain these four key principles, with each one just as important as the other. They make a strong foundation for the building blocks needed to give all the birds in our care the security and stability they need to thrive and be happy.
Rescue - We open our doors to Ex-pets, abused animals, injured wild birds and abandoned chicks.

Rehabilitate - All birds receive dedicated time attention & training if needed (domestic only) to ensure they recover both mentally & physically.

Rehome - Birds that are able to be re-homed are found suitable knowledgeable homes that are vetted. The birds best interest is paramount to us.

Release - Any wild bird of prey brought into our care is always released back into the wild once it has recovered & is strong enough, this is a very rewarding part of what we do.
