Regular activities include volunteer work parties three times per week at various points along the proposed canal route, work parties concentrate on restoring canal buildings such as bridges and lock chambers and maintaining hedgerows and verges in our care.
We attend and hold meetings with partners and funders, meetings with trustees and development group members. We hold community events and attend larger community events such as fetes and shows as stall holders to raise awareness.

    To restore the Derby & Sandiacre Canal as near to the original route as possible in order to promote wellbeing for the local communities who use it, to conserve and enhance the ecosystems within it and spread economic development throughout the restoration process and into the future.

    • To restore the Derby & Sandiacre Canal as near to the original route as possible.
    • To enhance the biodiversity along all stretches of the proposed canal within Trust ownership or under contracted management agreements.
    • To work with key stakeholders, current and target audiences to engage them with and include them in our activities.
