Changing Faces Scotland

Changing Faces is Scotland’s only charity for everyone with a mark, scar or condition that makes them look different. Our aim is to create a future where everyone with a visible difference on their face or body has the confidence, support and opportunity to live the lives they want. We provide advice and support, we challenge discrimination, and we campaign for a society that respects difference.

Founded 1992

  • Mission statement

Changing Faces are caring campaigners – supportive, friendly, positive and inspiring as well as forthright, informed, counter-cultural and determined.

We are here to help people who have a disfigurement find a way to live the lives they want. Our ambition is to create an enlightened society, which fully accepts and values people who have a disfigurement.

Our mission is to be recognised as being a source/catalyst for change by:
    - Supporting people and families to live confidently and training health professionals
    - Educating and influencing businesses, the NHS, schools and the media
    - Challenging the public and policy makers to think differently and create a fair society.

Our values are equality, confidence, unity and rigour.

We campaign for Face Equality. Face Equality is about being treated fairly and equally irrespective of appearance. We tackle discrimination in education, the workplace, customer service, the media – everywhere.
