The Nayamba Trust
The Nayamba Trust
The Nayamba Trust (TNT) is a grant making charity focussed on education in Zambia and particularly a school called Nayamba School. TNT provides grants to pay for things like; teacher salaries, food programme, classroom materials, electricity, sports competitions, exam entries and pupil transport. The charity also contributes greatly to capital campaigns to increase the school infrastructure such as the 2016 campaign which raised £85k to build classrooms, toilets, teacher houses & source water.
Nayamba School aims to provide free, high quality education to children that previously were not able to access education due to the cost of education (even Government schools incurred costs) or the distance to the nearest school.
The Nayamba Trust believes that every child has the right to receive a full education in a safe environment and that education is an essential foundation on which the economy can grow sustainably and improve the lives of the Zambian people.
The Nayamba Trust aims to:
- To continue supporting Nayamba School in the provision of free education to children from pre-school age to the end of year 9.
- To fund a scholarship scheme enabling the most academically able students to complete their secondary education. A further 2 years study in a private school is required.
- To raise money to launch a Trade Centre next to the school. This would teach valuable vocational skills to graduating Nayamba students enabling them to do skilled jobs and earn more money.
