Abram Wilson Foundation For Creative Arts

We support young people to become the greatest version of themselves through creative workshops in schools and a career development programme for up and coming musicians, equipping our beneficiaries with 21st century skills, improving access to the arts, and helping to support the future of music in the UK

Founded 2012

  • Mission statement

The Abram Wilson Foundation supports young people to become the greatest version of themselves through music.
What do we aim to do?
•To equip young people with 21st century skills. Engagement in the arts helps develop key skills such as creativity and confidence – skills that are crucial for young people to thrive in and adapt to the rapid-paced change of 21st century society.
    • To improve access to the arts. Since 2010 the arts have been squeezed out of the curriculum risking a two-tier system where those from underprivileged backgrounds continue to be deprived access to a creative education and/or career. We want to address this inequality and help make the arts accessible for all.
    • To help support the future of music in the UK. Through our growing music platform, we are helping to launch and sustain the careers of talented up and coming musicians.
    How do we do it?
    • Creative workshops in schools combining music with drama, dance and creative writing.
    • Training for teachers to help them teach more creatively
    • Mentoring for talented, up and coming musicians
    • Training for our mentees to become
    workshop leaders
    • Live performances in the form of showcase events, gigs and touring. Who do we work with?
    • Disadvantaged young people between 11-16 years with little or no engagement in the arts
