Stroud Valley Scout Group

Stroud Valley Scout Group is a registered charity and its main purpose is to provide scouting activities for young people aged 6 to 14 years. The charity is also responsible for the Scouting and Community centre and associated land, and offers this facility for use by the wider community when scouting activities are not taking place.

    The Purpose of Scouting
    Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

    As Scouts we are guided by these values:

    The Scout Method
    Scouting takes place when young people, in partnership with adults, work together based on the values of Scouting and:

    enjoy what they are doing and have fun
    take part in activities indoors and outdoors
    learn by doing
    share in spiritual reflection
    take responsibility and make choices
    undertake new and challenging activities
    make and live by their Promise.

    • To provide scouting activities to young people aged 6 to 18
    • To provide a community centre for use by the wider Stroud community when not used for scouting purposes
