Action Tutoring

Action Tutoring is an education charity supporting pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds to achieve a meaningful level of academic attainment, with a view to helping them progress to further education, employment or training.

We provide high-quality volunteer tutors to work with primary and secondary school pupils, through partnerships with schools, increasing pupils subject knowledge, confidence and study skills.

  • Mission statement

    Action Tutoring's mission is to tackle educational disadvantage by ensuring that pupils from low income backgrounds can have access to tuition where needed. We work with pupils who are at risk of leaving school without basic qualifications and match them with a high quality volunteer tutor, to support them to achieve in the crucial subjects of English or maths, to enable them to progress to further education, employment or training.

    • Supporting young people in education through the provision of tutors to provide academic support to pupils preparing for exams.
    • The encouragement of pupils, raising aspirations in addition to academic support.
