The Trust runs a community centre in most deprived area of North Kensington, a ten minute walk from the Grenfell tower. The local community is very diverse but is mainly comprised of BME immigrants. We rely on a large number of volunteers from the community and won the Queens Award for Volunteers last year. We to run a variety of projects focussing mainly on health and well-being, anti-isolation and self-empowerment and do considerable outreach with different local ethnic minority groups.

  • Mission statement

    The Dalgarno Trust (DT) is a dynamic charity working in partnership with the local community as well as the statutory bodies, private sector and voluntary organisations to `build better futures …….. Together’. It is situated a block away from Clarion’s housing in the Dalgarno wedge and supplies an amenity to many of Clarion’s customers.
    Our objectives are to:
    • Bring people and children of all ages from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds together so they can fulfil their potential, break the cycle of poverty, ill-health and deprivation.
    • Offer a range of services such for self-development. This include access to health and well-being awareness, education, training, social and cultural opportunities.
    • Ensure long-term sustainability of our local community by working to develop economic opportunities through social enterprises and self-funded groups.
    • Create, develop and support a strong, inclusive, vibrant and active neighbourhood.
    • Make sure that services, facilities and amenities are of the highest quality and accessible to all individuals and our community.
    • DT works for all members of the community with a strong commitment to inclusion and diversity for all.

  • Aims

    Dalgarno Neighbourhood Trust Ltd aims to:

    • Improve and expand the health and wellbeing of the local diverse population. Our programmes are only funded for 4 exercise sessions which is not long enough for behaviour to become ingrained.
    • Reduce isolation and loneliness in a community of low income, multiple ethnicities and significant language barriers.
    • Encourage the local population to help themselves by providing a framework to launch activities and programmes and use the existing infrastructure and kitchen to their own ends.
    • Ensure adequate provision for children/youth activities and entertainment to keep them gainfully employed and off the street.
