The Gheez Rite Chapliancy Community Association

To relieve the poverty, and advance the education, of the public, paticularly Eritrean and Ethiopian refugees resident in London.
To provide recreational facilities for persons who have need of such faciliites by reason of their poverty or social and economic circumstances, with the objective of imporving their conditions of life.

  • Mission statement

    Gheez-Rite exists and grew out of the needs of a number of communities who have heritage links from Eritrea and Ethiopia
    Established 28 years ago it has operated from several venues in North Kensington. It is now currently housed in Sion Manning Secondary School each Saturday during school term times.
    It operates 36 weeks per year and has mainly historically run on shoe string budgets. This has been made possible through the goodwill of its founder, support and guidance from Westway Trust and other charitable funders.
    The project is essential for the mental and physical wellbeing of a needy child/children who came here from war torn situations and who have adapted well into local life in North Kensington and the surrounding sister boroughs.
    Aims and objectives of the project.
    1. To enhance an existing and long lasting supplementary School
    2. To develop a programme of progression and ambition for parents and children giving them a vital meaning to their identitiy.
    3. To encourage integration and assimilation into British culture by outing to the muesum , historical and cultural places.
    4. To provide extra physical activiites to support them realise their potential and talents in sports, providing foot ball tournaments etc.
    5. To encourage confidence in parents to engage socially as well as the children to develop thier self confidence, self esteem and their holistic development.
    6. To give children chance to sea U. K's sea sites to relax their mind vital for their well being.

  • Aims

    The Gheez Rite Chapliancy Community Association aims to:

    • We would like to gather our children to have a football games and tournaments for boys and dance and physical exercise for the girls during the summer, while we provide games and activities with BBQ.
    • we would like to take our children to museums, castles and British historical sites to educate and enhance their learning during the term times as well as school breaks and holidays.
    • We would like to provide an outing to the seaside and Butlin holidays to give children a chance to relax with their parents and carers as parents might not afford to give their children these outing
