Sixteenfeet Productions

Sixteenfeet Productions provide an alternative to the traditional theatre going experience. We seek out local writers, musicians and performers who work collaboratively to produce re-imagined classic stories. Our performances are complemented with workshops for schools.
Based in Brixton, South London, it is key to our ethos that we represent, on stage and in the creative team, the diversity of the area in which we live.

Founded 2008

  • Mission statement

We believe that theatre is a force for stimulating ideas and discussion, encouraging creativity and broadening horizons. The Company tries to ensure its work is affordable to all, but in particular to young people who may not get the opportunity to participate because of social or economic factors. Our ethos is to create engaging and accessible theatre with a wide appeal.
    We achieve this by:

    • Adapting classic stories and presenting them to a new generation in an entertaining, interactive and involving way.

    • Providing workshops for primary and secondary school children that help explore their creativity.

    • Giving young people from local groups such as Brixton Youth Theatre an opportunity to work with us as volunteers and paid internships.

    • Ensuring that our resources are affordable and accessible to our community.

We bring theatre to local audiences, working in non-traditional spaces. Diversity, inclusivity and increasing arts participation are at the core of all we do.

  • Aims

    Sixteenfeet Productions aims to:

    • To increase affordable accessible arts participation that is inclusive, celebrates diversity and enhances the quality of life in our locality.
