AzuKo is an architecture charity. From housing, sanitation and infrastructure to play and public space, our projects address the real needs of the communities we work with.
The charity helps socially and economically disadvantaged communities worldwide. Our current focus is on the UK, Bangladesh and China.
At AzuKo we believe in a just world, in which every person enjoys the right to dignified living conditions. We design with disadvantaged communities, and empower them to create the world they dream of.
Everything we do is shaped by our three core values. We are empowering, participatory and committed.
WHO WE ARE:
AzuKo means 'all of humanity' in an endangered language of the DR Congo. The name is symbolic of our intent. Not only do we seek to achieve democracy in design, but also give a voice to those who are rarely granted the platform.
Through extensive research we provide insight into current living conditions, offer visions for the future and support local communities to better their own environments.
AzuKo is a registered charity in England and Wales (no. 1156354). We are a growing group of designers, architects and social entrepreneurs dedicated to designing a better world.
