Charity information

Bitou Community Foundation Trust

Our efforts are focused on supporting charities working in the Bitou region in the Eden District of the Western Cape. Bitou has shown rapid growth of a predominantly poor population with migrants largely coming from the even poorer communities of the Eastern Cape. Poor living conditions and poor nutrition exacerbate poor health and place significant strain on the environment which is one of the most unique biodiversity hotspots in the world.

Founded 2017

  • Mission statement

Our primary purpose is to provide relief for the poor, the sick, the young and/or the aged in the Bitou region of the Western Cape Province of South Africa, whilst also protecting its natural environment from development that will destroy diversity and harm the natural ecosystems that support the sustainability of the community and the flora and fauna in this area of immense natural beauty.

  • Aims

Bitou Community Foundation Trust aims to:

    • TO provide support for the health and wellbeing of children and their families living with life threatening illnesses.
    • To protect and conserve the environmental value of the community, so ensuring prosperity through all by building eco tourism and related services.
