Providing end of life nursing care at home, free of charge, since 1999 in West Oxfordshire.
Palliative care if available to patients with any illness who have reached the last few weeks of life and wish to remain at home. Our team of registered nurses are all experienced in end of life care. A member of the nursing team will visit the patient at home to discuss the extra care needed with the patient, the family and the Community Nurse. We care for patients day and night.

  • Mission statement

The Lawrence Home Nursing Team provides end of life nursing care, free of charge, in patient's homes.
We care for patients day and night and there is no set timetable for the care we offer. Our palliative care is tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

The Lawrence Home Nursing Team was established in May 1999, in memory of Dr. Martin Lawrence, who was a GP in Chipping Norton for 25 years and was himself diagnosed with a terminal illness. During the last few weeks of his life he was cared for at home with extensive nursing and medical support. It was his wish that other patients choosing to remain at home should have the benefit of this type of support to complement exisiting services.

The Lawrence Home Nursing Team is controlled and managed by a Board of Trustees.

The day to day running is the responsibility of the Registered Manager. There is a team of 18 experienced registered nurses available to care for patients in the community.
