St Cuthbert's Society Junior Common Room

St Cuthbert’s Society JCR is an independent educational charity serving the 1,400 strong student community of St Cuthbert’s Society, one of the constituent colleges of Durham University.

It acts as the representative body for the students’ interests and facilities a rich and expansive programme of sporting, cultural, recreational and academic societies. The charity also provides welfare support to students, organises major social events and is involved in outreach activities in the North-East.

    The objects of the CIO are the advancement of the education of the students of Saint Cuthbert’s Society for the public benefit by:

    promoting the interests and welfare of Students at Saint Cuthbert’s Society during the course of study and representing, supporting and advising Students;

    being the recognised representative channel between Students and Saint Cuthbert’s Society and any other external bodies; and

    Providing social, sporting, cultural and recreational activities and forums for discussions and debate for the personal development of its Students.
