Jinja DEAF

Jinja DEAF (deaf education access fund) is a small UK based charity, whose aim is to support the education of deaf children in the Jinja district of Uganda. We raise funds and to employ four full-time staff in government primary schools. We also fund a few nurseries, and support occasional ugandan sign language (USL) workshops for parents of deaf children, and educators.
Our support makes a big difference to the lives of many deaf children living in Jinja

Founded 2008

  • Mission statement

Our mission is to provide support for vulnerable young deaf children living in Jinja in Uganda. For these children, our support means the difference between having a language, education, opportunities and friends, versus staying at home in isolation, devalued and without an ability to communicate or hope for change.
We are grateful to our generous supporters, and closely monitor activities and spending to ensure responsible and efficient scrutiny of payments.
