Great Horwood School PTA

To run fun school events that raise money to buy equipment, activities and subscriptions that benefit the learning experience of the children at our school.

Founded 1995

  • Mission statement

To raise as much money as we can to benefit the learning of the children at our school. We run fun events that the children enjoy and work hard to make as much money from the events as possible. We work with the school to identify equipment, activities and subscriptions that they (and we) believe will benefit the children but that the school budget cannot cover. We have a small school population (less than 160 children) so we have to work hard to make the most of every penny of fundraising, so we actively seek matching schemes that can help increase our funds. In the last few years we have funded library books, iPads, science and theatre workshops, paid for transport for school trips, purchased outside play equipment and projection equipment for our school hall. In addition we give teachers small classroom budgets to pay for coloured paper, paint, glitter, glue and all the things we take for granted should be in a classroom but can't be afforded out of a small school budget.
