Sound Minds

A multi award winning user led social enterprise using the arts to improve the lives of people living with long term mental ill health.

Founded 1992

  • Mission statement

At Sound Minds we believe in the transformative value of the arts and peer support.

The Sound Minds charity is led by people who use mental health services and the majority of staff, volunteers and trustees are people with lived experience most of whom originally came to receive the service they now help to provide.

Our service users create together, perform, exhibit and exchange skills and advice. Sound Minds also works in partnership with the NHS to provide mental health peer support services, and also runs a local drop in and a community choir.

  • Aims

    Sound Minds aims to:

    • To use the arts and peer support to help people in their recovery from enduring mental health issues
