  • Mission statement

Four Paws Animal Rescue (South Wales) is a small independent, volunteer led, registered charity based in South Wales which was founded in 2004. We are entirely volunteer run. Our primary work is to rescue dogs from Local Authority pounds which have a euthanasia policy if they are not re-homed or claimed within 7 days of their arrival. We also help as many other types of animals as we can and have had cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, hedgehogs, rabbits and a few others.
We also take in unwanted breeding dogs that could be put to sleep. We provide a much needed resource to members of the local community when they can no longer look after their animals. If we are not able to help these animals we work with other rescues and do our utmost to save all that we can.
We work via a network of foster homes to enable the animals to receive plenty of TLC and be fully assessed without the stresses of kennels. All animals in the care of FPAR receive excellent veterinary care, are vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, micro-chipped and neutered before adoption. We do use emergency boarding kennels, but these are private boarding kennels which we pay for. FPAR received over 700 dogs in 2016 which were rehomed directly or rehomed via another rescue centre.
We pride ourselves on our non destruct policy.
