Scotswood Natural Community Garden is much more than a community garden. We are a dynamic, award winning, innovative community organisation based in the heart of our local neighbourhood which is in the highest 10% for income, health and crime deprivation in the UK (DCLG 2015). We aim to tackle poverty and inequality at a local level by providing a range of education, support, training, health and wellbeing services from our garden for people aged 0-90.   • Mission statement

    SNCG’s mission is, ‘to inspire and promote learning about nature, the environment, and sustainable living. ’ Our objectives are: 1) To provide opportunities for all sections of the community to participate in activities that improve their understanding of nature and of developing a sustainable environment. 2) To provide opportunities for people to participate in the development of the Garden and the wider community 3) To enable people to gain new skills and knowledge, develop their creativity, improve their fitness, and their overall health & wellbeing. 4) To have a positive impact on the development of a cohesive and sustainable community in Scotswood. 5) To provide a haven for native flora and flora to flourish.
