Tyne & Wear RDA Limited

We operate from a purpose built riding Centre seven days per week throughout the year. We provide riding therapy to clients of all ages and with all manner of disabilities, physical, mental and emotional, and we also support the Centre by including lessons for able bodied riders. We promote training to recognised standards and support a volunteering program for anyone 14 years and above.

  • Mission statement

    The objects for which the Company is established are to promote the objects of the Riding for the Disabled Association incorporating Carriage Driving a charity registered under Charity Number 244108 (“RDA”) by providing disabled people with the opportunity to ride, and to benefit their health and well-being in the Tyne & Wear and surrounding areas. Riding is recognised as a highly effective form of therapy which contributes to the improvement of a wide range of medical conditions, is a positive and unique form of therapy, brings a new dimension to restricted lives and encourages independence.

  • Aims

    Tyne & Wear RDA Limited aims to:

    • Our aim is to contribute to the improvement of a wide range of medical conditions, physical, mental and emotional, both through riding and related activities.
    • Many people have had little or no exposure to disability, using horse riding as an activity, we aim to integrate disabled and able bodied people in a positive environment to their mutual benefit.
    • The Disability Awareness through Animals is designed to give youngsters a close up to horses, their environment and care, and to raise disability awareness, encouraging volunteering and team work.
