Hurst Festival

The Hurst Festival is a not for profit organisation that arranges a festival of affordable events including professional musicians and authors amongst many others, for the local community around the village. The two week Festival now extends well beyond its original arts focus to touch as wide a spectrum of the local community in and around Hurstpierpoint as possible.   • Mission statement

    The festival Charity is now 10 years old. Its mission statement is:
    - The purpose of the Festival is to celebrate every aspect of art and culture enjoyed by adults, youth and children as a means of strengthening ties within the villages [Hurstpierpoint and surrounding villages] and bringing people into the villages
    - Fun and fine art, entertainment and enlightenment will be equally welcomed
    - The theme is us! We want to raise community values by celebrating ourselves as a community and as co-operative and individual stars and heroes
    - The organisers want the Festival to add value to what all people enjoy and to encourage them to try new things
    - The organisers are co-ordinators and will do all in their power to make the Festival an enjoyable and memorable event. They will be open, fair and decisive
    - They will co-ordinate and provide umbrella services for contributors (e. G scheduling, public relations, bulk equipment hiring, printing etc…) in a series of special events of an artistic and cultural nature including: art, collecting, comedy, costume & fashion, craft, dance & movement, design & decoration, displays, fun, food & drink, games, heritage & history, lectures & demonstrations, literature, music, stunts, video and much more

    • Improve community life by inclusion of as many people as possible, of all ages, and engaging them in a festival that entertains, educates, and cements belonging.
