The Kianh Foundation

The Kianh Foundation Day Centre is the first of its kind in Central Vietnam to provide an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach to the development needs of children with disability. It builds local capacity by providing special education, physical therapy and speech therapy, access to dental care and life skills to children with disability in the local community. It also provides training, development and respite support to the parents and families of the children attending the Centre.

Founded 2002

  • Mission statement

At the Kianh Centre, children’s development is given a holistic approach based on each student’s abilities and needs. The education programmes cater to the needs of students as individuals. Children may follow the mainstream literacy and numeracy Vietnamese curriculum or take the path of a specifically modified curriculum that focuses on the individual’s functional life skills. Students’ communication and language skills are developed through a series of activities that include social sciences, art, homecraft, self-help and social skills.

  • Aims

    The Kianh Foundation aims to:

    • Meet annual funding needs.
    • Raise capital costs for an expansion of the physical centre from 100 children to 180 children.
    • Raise capital funds for an Aquaponics Farm project, providing revenues for proportional self-funding and employment for our graduates (adults with disability).
    • Raise funds to build a visitors centre providing limited access to potential donner's and daily revenues.
