  • Mission statement

Dorset Search and Rescue is a team of highly trained volunteers who provide additional personnel and resources to the Police and other statutory agencies in the search and recovery of "Vulnerable" missing persons such as:

    Dementia patients
    Despondents
    Children
    Elderly (Dependant upon frailty)
    Missing Hikers / Walkers
Available for callout 24 hours a day - 365 days a year, DorSAR aim to deploy anywhere in Dorset within 90 minutes of the team being called out.

Our motto means "Hope for the best, prepared for the worst" and reflects the determined professionalism of the team. All members are trained to the highest standards expected of lowland search teams and are drawn from all walks of life.
In addition to land based search teams we also can operate on and close to water using the skills of our highly trained volunteers.
