Animals In Distress (Torbay and Westcountry)

Animals in Distress is a local, independent rescue and rehoming centre based in South Devon. We take in, care for and find new homes for over 600 cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs every year.

Founded 1984

  • Mission statement

We take in and care for abandoned, neglected and unwanted domestic pets. We always provide shelter, food, exercise and veterinary care for animals in our care whilst aimimg to re-home them following relevant checks. We never put an animal to sleep unless on the advice of a veterinary surgeon.

  • Aims

Animals In Distress (Torbay and Westcountry) aims to:

    • We want to find a new, forever home for every cat, dog, rabbit and guinea pig who needs our help.
    • We want people to choose adoption over buying when it comes to finding a new pet.
