St Peter's Pre-school

We are a friendly village Pre-School, set in the countryside on the outskirts of Ardingly Village. Established in 1965, we now offer places on five mornings and four afternoons each week. We aim to provide high quality care and education for pre-school children with child-initiated, play-based activities. We follow the principles laid out in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and work under the EYFS guidelines, meaning our children have plenty to interest and challenge them.

  • Mission statement

We work in partnership with parents to help children learn and develop, and to offer children and their parents/carers a service which promotes equality and values diversity. We also aim to add to the life and well-being of the local community in Ardingly. We consider ourselves to be a central part of the village community. We have close links with the village primary school and the church and join in with the village fetes and festivals.
The children we provide for will be in a secure, safe and stimulating environment, joining in with other children and adults to play, work and learn together. Our children will receive generous attention due to our commitment to providing a higher than recommended staff to child ratio. All children are welcome and respected as individuals. Together with parents and carers, we aim to help each child develop to their full potential. We believe children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure. As a close knit team, we are able to identify and meet the individual needs of every child ensuring they enjoy an enriching experience and are prepared and excited to make the transition to ‘big school’.
