The Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) is the UK organisation for all other healthcare professionals working in or with an interest in occupational health. It is concerned with:
• the protection of the health of people in the workplace
• the prevention of occupational injuries and disease
• related environmental issues

    • The relief of those in need due to ill-health, disease, injury or disability by supporting them to keep in work or assist them to get into work
    • 3 advancing education, including the promotion and stimulation of research in the field of occupational health and medicine and related environmental health issues
