Aawaz is an independent registered charity organisation established in 1997, working at grassroots level with disadvantaged communities. Our focus is on engaging south Asian and eastern European women and families who are isolated, vulnerable and face multiple barriers. We work holistically to assist, enable and capacity build women so that they can learn to help themselves. We assist women to learn to communicate in English build their self-esteem and confidence.

  • Mission statement

    The word Aawaz means Voice in Urdu language.
    Aawaz vision:To remove the culture of dependency, improve the lives of south Asian women and their families and help create equal and cohesive communities where women can feel a sense of belonging and play their part in the wider society.

    Aawaz have an open door system we welcome everyone, we have developed a practical multilingual programme of learning and personal development which is meaningful for the women who access our services.

    • To assist women who face mutiple barriers/personal issues in their personal development, so that the women start to learn to devise their own coping strategies in order to help themselves.
