  • Mission statement

    Our goals
    • To get as many children male and female playing basketball from local level to National Level.
    • To give children the fundamentals and skills to develop themselves on and off the court.
    • To grow the number of members and volunteers by reducing costs
With solid links at Regional and National level. We are looking to put Plymouth on the map as a leader in developing young basketball players. We have a plan, a pathway and the experience to achieve these goals, there are however many expenses connected with running the club and Plymouth Raiders Development rely on fundraising events and the support of local businesses.
Last season, it cost the club £21,028 in court fees alone, on top of that there are significant costs for minibus hire, kits, fuel and officials. The result was the club had to increase match and training fees as we have struggled to obtain sponsors in the current financial climate.
The current running costs mean players are paying around £50 per month including game fees. Those players that are picked more (which is a positive) are having to pay even more. If we were chosen, we would contribute the money towards the clubs outgoing a so we could significantly subsidise match and training fees to reduce the costs for families and encourage more players and volunteers.
