Family Space began to operate in West Cheltenham in 1995 to ‘Offer a helping hand with the Ups and Downs of Family Life”

    Family Space delivers:

Child Contact Centre: Safe place for children to spend time with a parent no longer at home due to family separation.

Befrienders: 1:1 Help with the stresses and strains of family life, either at home or out in the community.

Time Out for Mums: Small support groups with mums to build confidence and learn new skills whilst children are looked after in a crèche.

Stay & Play Groups: Opportunity for parent and child to spend time together in structured play activities so parents are able to enjoy and encourage learning time with their children.

    Aim:

    · Plug the gap as public funded community services continue to reduce.

    · Develop people’s appreciation of themselves and their families.

    · Encourage family relationships, especially between parent and children.

    · Provide opportunities for parents and children to enjoy time together and on their own

    · Provide spaces where children and parents can feel safe.

    Objectives:

    a) Parents are more confident and more capable in coping with the stresses of family life.

    b) Families begin to operate their own support networks in the community that benefits all.
