Samaritans Barnsley helps improve and save lives of all people in need of our help We offer people who are suicidal, despairing or in distress the chance of being listened to respectfully, confidentially and unjudgingly in order to reduce the incidence of suicide. We answer their calls and reply to their text messages and emails 24 - 7 We advance education by providing society with better understanding of suicide, suicidal behaviour and the value of expressing feelings that may lead to suicide

  • Mission statement

    Samaritans Vision is that fewer people die by suicide.
    We work to achieve this vision by making it our mission to alleviate emotional distress and reduce the incidence of suicide feelings and suicidal behaviour and we do this by:

    1- Being available 24 hours a day to provide emotional support to people in need.
    2- Reaching out to high risk groups and communities to reduce the risk of suicide.
    3- Working in partnership with other local organisations, agencies and experts to achieve our vision.
