  • Mission statement

    Ethiopia retains a unique position as an ancient Christian civilization. The history of artistic production in Ethiopia spans over 2000 years. Artists and architects have produced a stunning array of religious artefact processional crosses, illuminated manuscripts, painted wooden icons and wall paintings. Our mission is to conserve this heritage and to raise awareness both nationally and internationally so that the future these treasures and their history is secure.

    • To conserve wall paintings in Ethiopia We are on the 4th year of working on rock churches in Tigray. The paintings are mainly 15th century and have seen the
    • Set up a museum in a church in Cheleqot Visited by Henry Salt, the church has a magnificent display of early 19 century Ethiopian treasures as well as several objects sent as gifts by George 111.
    • Advise on a cultural park in Tigray region The Bureau of culture for the Tigray region is planning to make the Geralta region a UNESCO world heritage site. We have been retained to advise
    • To conserve manuscripts We continue our work to conserve important manuscripts in the churches. They date from 6th century to 15th century.
