Swindon And District Mind

Swindon Mind became a registered charity in 1990 and we are now the main third sector provider for mental health services in the Borough of Swindon. In 2017 we started to work in Gloucester delivering a Wellbeing House service (short term respite & wellbeing support).
We are affiliated to National Mind charity although we receive no funding from National Mind and we are staffed by experienced professionals with relevant qualifications and training

    Our Vision:
    We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.

    Our Mission:
    We provide information, support and services to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

    Our Recovery Statement:
    We in Swindon Mind place recovery and empowerment at the heart of our service. Therefore we all demonstrate the recovery principles of:

    Swindon And District Mind aims to:

    • Provide accessible services to anyone from Swindon (and eventually in Gloucestershire) who experiences emotional distress
    • Promote mental health and well-being, from prevention through to recovery
    • Empower people to lead full and independent lives as part of the community
    • Raise public awareness of mental health issues and combat stigma and discrimination
    • Develop and improve mental health services, to promote inclusion, embrace diversity and work to promote equal outcomes for all sections of the community
