Nepali Children's Trust

To support and help the Disabled Newlife Centre (a Nepali registered NGO) in Kathmandu to give a sustainable future, by sourcing the funding for the building of a permanent home, purpose-built, for disabled and physically handicapped children, in a stable and caring environment, and to fund corrective orthopaedic surgery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, as well as asisting with schooling and other training to enable a full return to life in their local communities within Nepal.

The new building is in the final stages of completion, with a target date of April 2010 for the children to move in. A final push for funds is underway by
our Trustees, as more than £200k has been raised already towards a final build cost of £265k, and a further £30k is needed for fiixtures, fitiings and equipment. Sponsorship of particular items could carry the donor's name.
As soon as DNC can move to its new home, rent on the old premises can be saved and the savings directed towards better diet, personal welfare items and clothes, as well as extra physio treatment for the children's rehabilitation.
