The Trust uses restoration and conservation via education to take Gwrych Castle, a privately owned derelict Gothic Georgian Castle, to create safe public access by encouraging the local population to become involved in the restoration and conservation via volunteering and regular open days. The Trust's aims are to be inclusive rather than exclusive by finding ways to include the whole of the local community no matter what their social, economic or physical ability.

  • Mission statement

    The Trust had been founded to raise awareness of Gwrych’s plight and also to establish a solution for the conservation and preservation of the castle. Through much hard work, a huge amount has been achieved and the profile of the castle has been significantly raised with supporters from all over the globe.
    The Trust uses restoration and conservation via education to take Gwrych Castle, a privately owned derelict Gothic Victorian Castle, to create safe public access. This is done via encouraging the local population to become involved in the restoration and conservation via volunteering and regular open days to be able to view the progression of the on going work. The Trust's aims are to be inclusive rather than exclusive by finding ways to include the whole of the local community no matter what their social, economic or physical ability.

    • To be a part of encouraging the North Wales coastal area to be regenerated as a major tourist destination
    • Gwrych Castle to be restored to it's former glory
    • For local people to take a pride in not just the Gwrych Estate but the town of Abergele as well
