Bolton Children's Opportunity Group

COG is a parent run, self help group, whose aim is to provide a stepping stone between home and playgroup and/or nursery by offering the facility of integrated play sessions for all under fives, with or without special needs, and also providing specialised teaching for under fives with learning difficulties. COG gives the chance to meet others with similar problems , so they can be of mutual help.

    To support children to achieve their full potential by providing education, care and nurturing during their Early Years Foundation Stage and beyond, achieving immediate and lasting change in their lives. To also provide support services and opportunities for their families to meet others with similar experiences and challenges and so be of mutual help.

  • Aims

    Bolton Children's Opportunity Group aims to:

    • To advance the education of children and young adults with additional needs within the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton.
    • To promote the development of individual capabilities competences skills and understanding.
    • To provide a safe environment for group play and activities to encourage children to interact and learn through structured play.
    • To promote the involvement of parents and guardians to engage more with their child's education including other charitable activities through which they can help their child.
