The Geffrye Museum Trust

The Geffrye Museum of the Home is devoted to enriching lives in Hackney and beyond. Our collections explore the history of home – a subject so familiar that it is accessible across all ages, abilities and backgrounds. We are an ideal platform for learning and have been a pioneer in museum education since the 1930s. Housed in Grade-I-listed, 300-year-old former almshouses the museum, which was founded in 1914, now attracts more than 114,000 visitors every year.
